ABC ABC are a definitive English synth-pop and new wave band formed in Sheffield in 1980. Fronted by the suave, golden-suited vocalist Martin Fry, the group seamlessly fused post-punk energy with lush, cinematic disco strings. They achieved massive critical and commercial success with their 1982 debut album, The Lexicon of Love, produced by Trevor Horn. The record spawned timeless, chart-topping hits including “The Look of Love”, “Poison Arrow”, and “All of My Heart”. Though lineup changes followed, they secured later hits like “When Smokey Sings” before Fry transitioned ABC into a solo touring project.
