Band AidBand Aid was a British and Irish charity supergroup formed in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure. Created to raise money for anti-famine efforts in Ethiopia, the group featured dozens of the era’s biggest pop and rock stars, including Bono, George Michael, Phil Collins, and Sting. They recorded the historic single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” on 25 November 1984, releasing it just days later.
