Belinda CarlisleIn the 1980s, Belinda Carlisle achieved the rare feat of fronting a history-making band before launching a monumental solo pop career. She began the decade leading The Go-Go’s, steering them to become the first all-female group writing their own hits to top the Billboard charts with classics like “Our Lips Are Sealed”. When they disbanded in 1985, Carlisle reinvented herself as a polished, sophisticated soloist. Her 1987 multi-platinum sophomore album, Heaven on Earth, rocketed her to global superstardom, spawning the definitive, chart-topping international anthem “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” and cementing her status as an enduring 1980s pop icon.
