EnyaEnya, born Eithne Ní Bhraonáin in 1961 in Gweedore, Ireland, is Ireland’s best-selling solo musician. She began her career in 1980 with her family’s folk band, Clannad, before leaving in 1982 to pursue a solo career. Collaborating closely with producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, she developed a signature sound characterized by multi-layered vocals, reverb, and Celtic influences.

Her 1988 breakthrough album, Watermark, featuring the hit single “Orinoco Flow,” brought her global fame. She has sold over 80 million albums worldwide, won four Grammy Awards, and maintains an enigmatic, private lifestyle, famously never touring.
